BioSuperfood (BSF) is a blue-green algae supplement that contains a full spectrum of concentrated, highly bioavailable nutrients: vitamins, minerals, amino acids, essential fatty acids, natural antioxidants (including chlorophyll and phycocyanin), and metabolic enzymes. This particular blend contain 30 times more nutritional power per ounce than any other food product. It is truly a “superfood.” While the milligram weight of the nutrients is low, their maximal bioavailability make them far more powerful than they would be in any other form. BSF was developed by Dr. Michael Kiriac, a Russian physician with degrees in Cellular Nutrition and Biotechnology. His research also included mink (which are obligate carnivores much like cats), pigs and cows. He weeded out all the ineffective components until he found a concentrate that he named “BioSuperfood.”
What makes BSF (and the pet formulation BioPreparation or BP), different from other popular algae products, like spirulina or chlorella? It contains a synergistic combination of four unique species of blue-green algae. These species have polysaccharide cell walls, rather than the indigestible cellulose cell walls of most other species such as spirulina. BSF and BP are therefore easily digested and absorbed. Their extreme bioavailability makes them particularly valuable for animals with digestive problems. BSF and BP are also quite palatable, and even fussy pets will eat without complaint when either is mixed with their wet food.
